That's Who I Am

I had a moment of procrastination the other day and decided to Google my name instead of doing homework.

Don't look at me like I'm weird. You know you all have done it.

I was curious to see what the other Teresa Woods were doing out there in that big, beautiful world. I wanted to know what they were doing with the name that I wear so proudly.

So what did I find?....

Google pulled up a bunch of images and so I took a look at them. Who are these women who share something so personal with me?

Now this is where it gets pretty coincidental...

Google took me to sites that were all related to education, farming equipment, horse stables, and the outdoors!

It seems that there are certain interests that just come with the name! :)

Dinner for Two

I am finally learning to Cook!

I recently (as in a month ago)struck up a deal with a friend involving dinner. I cook dinner every night and they pay for the grocery bill. I can't remember how we got it started but it has been FANTASTIC!!!

There have been so many benefits to it that I didn't even think about when I started. To name a few...

1. My food bill has dropped dramatically

2. I am learning how to cook for two.
I feel it is good preparation for the day when I get married and my husband asks "What's for dinner?" Instead of looking at him like he just asked me to recite the numerical definition of pi I can pull out my experience and start cookin' up a storm :)

3. I am getting my homework done every day.
This is one of those benefits that I didn't see coming. On the days that I make dinner I usually have a few hours before heading over. I have been able to force myself to work on homework before going because I don't like homework getting in the way of meals. If I am going to cook a meal and eat it, I want to cook it and eat it without the interruption of trying to get reading done and papers written. If I don't get all my homework done before going over... no worries!
I get it done after dinner. When the dishes are all done, we sit down until I have finished it all. It has made my homework load a LOT less stressful. So far I have written about 6 papers this semester and haven't gotten stressed out by a single one! I can't believe it... I HATE writing papers!

4. I don't feel the need to put off homework in order to socialize.
It is so hard to study when you haven't talked to anybody all day or you have been at school all day. I firmly believe there is a natural need inside of us that requires some SOCIALIZATION!!! I hit two birds with one stone by eating with a friend. By the time the weekend comes around I am not starving for some friend interaction. I can either do stuff with friends or work on homework and NOT feel guilty or deprived.

5. Just kidding
, I know there was another one but it has slipped my mind for the moment. Maybe if I remember it I will go back and let you all know :)

So, What Have I Made?
Small disclaimer: These are not my pictures...

(I wish my food looked that good when I made it)
I stole these from here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Most of these recipes came from my lovely sister Stephanie. She has helped me soooo much by providing recipes and answering your basic kitchen questions that I should know by now. Here are a few of the great meals we have had...

Parmesan Tilapia

Parmesan Chicken

Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo

and
Chicken Puffs

One of the most important things I have learned is how to make quick meals. There are some nights that we don't get dinner started until about 9 or 10 and I want to eat something soon. Here are some quick meals we have had...

Sloppy Joes

and
Hawaiian Haystacks
